UvA is the most international university in the Netherlands, according to a new ranking list
The University of Amsterdam (UvA) is the most international university in the Netherlands, according to a new ranking list compiled by Times Higher Education (THE).
In the Most International Universities in the World rankings, released on 1 February 2017, the UvA is placed 38th out of 150 universities, making it not only the highest ranked Dutch university but also one of the top ten in mainland Europe.
Internationalisation is a strategic priority for the University of Amsterdam. In 2011 the university finalised its Strategic Framework for Internationalisation, which sets our clear goals in the field of internationalisation and is aimed at attracting the best and brightest international students and staff. In the six years since, the UvA has seen its international student and staff population grow steadily. This is clearly reflected in its Master’s programmes, most of which are taught exclusively in English, and its growing number of English-taught Bachelor’s degree programmes.
