UvA Summer School: Inspiring and Academic Summer Courses

March 15, 2017

Between June and August, the UvA Summer School will offer 25 English-taught summer programmes ranging from law to cognitive neuroscience. Each year, more than 700 students from all over the world take part in our English-taught summer courses.

Interdisciplinary programmes

The programmes run between one to four weeks and focus on some of the UvA’s key interdisciplinary research themes. In the Amsterdam Creative City course, participants are challenged to immerse themselves in the relationship between art, media and the city. Our new architecture summer programme takes a comparative look at the cities of Amsterdam and Rotterdam, while The Sleeping Brain offers an interdisciplinary perspective on current insights into sleep and cognition. Graduate students from any field can also take part in the Grant Writing summer course, which will help them develop their own grant proposal.

Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD levels

The UvA Summer School offers programmes at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD levels. Each programme gives students the chance to explore a new academic discipline or deepen their existing knowledge of a subject area. In addition to the internationally oriented summer programmes, there are also a number of Dutch-taught summer courses.
